PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The seven level building houses public facilities such as library, offices, lecture halls, staff rooms and lavatories.

The building is designed to portray the character of an institutional facility. This character has been defined by the regular and modular building elements on the fa├žade and the dominant light shades of off-white and grey colours. Locally available/manufactured materials have been specified with an aim of fitting the building into the local context as well as fostering the local building industry.

The building is oriented such that most of the windows/fenestration are in the north/south direction. The curtain walls facing the east have been shielded from the sun by means of vertical aluminum fins.
